VHP leader Surendra Gupta has said that the VHP has no connection with Monu Manesar and nor is he part of the Bajrang Dal.

“There was inadequate security force accompanying the yatra, due to which the violence took place. We have no connection with Monu Manesar. Any youth can call himself a member of Bajrang Dal, but as long as he is not a convener, no one can be a worker of Bajrang Dal. So, we have no relation with him, nor is he a part of Bajrang Dal. The person who talks against the constitution cannot be a part of Bajrang Dal,” Gupta was quoted as saying by ABP.

“A religious procession is taken out every year. 18,000–20,000 people from across Haryana participate in the yatra, and this yatra has been taking place for the last three years. This time the yatra was attacked, and bullets were fired. This is a well-planned conspiracy to destroy the pilgrimage of Hindus,” he further said.
