The Central Crime Branch (CCB) averted a major terror plot in Bengaluru after arresting five suspected Islamic terrorists on Wednesday. Those arrested were identified as Junaid, Sohail, Umar, Mudasir, and Jahid.

As per reports, they had planned to carry out a blast in Bengaluru. Several explosive materials and other items, along with their mobile phones, were seized.

The CCB is also on the lookout for five more individuals suspected of being involved in the planning of the blast.

The five arrested individuals were also involved in a 2017 murder case. They had been lodged at the Bangalore Central Jail, where they came into contact with some terrorists and received training on handling explosives.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
