Step by Step  Recipes of Delicious Ghujia

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose  flour (maida)

1/2 cup ghee or clarified butter

1/2 cup milk

 1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup khoya or mawa

1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, raisins)

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Oil for frying

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and ghee. Rub the ghee into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

2. Gradually add the milk, a little at a time, and knead the mixture into a stiff dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

3. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, khoya, chopped nuts, and cardamom powder. Mix well.

4. After 30 minutes, divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circular shape.

5. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circular dough shape.

6. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal it. Use a fork to make decorative patterns along the edges of the ghujia.

7. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

8. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the ghujias in the oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.

9. Remove the ghujias from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

10. Let the ghujias cool before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
