Adar Poonawalla buys London’s most expensive house of the year at Rs 1446 crore

Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India’s (SII), which makes the Covishield vaccine, has reached a deal to buy the most expensive house to be sold in London this year.

The billionaire will pay £138 million (RS 1446 crore) for the nearly a century old Aberconway House near Hyde Park, according to reports.

The deal with Poonawalla was agreed upon by Dominika Kulczyk, daughter of the late businessman Jan Kulczyk, who was Poland’s richest man.

The property will be acquired by Serum Life Sciences, a UK subsidiary of the Poonawalla family’s Serum Institute of India.

This deal will make Aberconway House the second-most expensive home ever sold in London.
