Three requests to burn religious texts have been submitted to the Swedish police. This comes a week after an Iraqi immigrant tore pages of the Quran and burned it outside a mosque in Stockholm.
One request involves the Quran, which organisers want to hold in front of the Stockholm mosque as soon as possible to counter unfair protests against Sweden for last week’s burning of the book.
Another application concerns the burning of the Torah and the Bible on July 15 in front of the Israeli embassy in response to last week’s permitted Quran-burning action and as a symbolic gathering for freedom of speech.
