Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol. Thirumavalavan on Sunday cited B. R. Ambedkar and E.V. Ramasamy (called ‘Periyar’ by his supporters) to support DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement calling for the eradication of Sanatan Dharma.
“Revolutionary Dr BR Ambedkar says Sanatana Dharma or Hindu Dharma, is a contagious disease. It should be eradicated and annihilated in the future,” Thirumavalavan said, adding that “then only we can attain equality among the people. So Minister Udhayanidhi spoke about the ideology of Periyar, the ideology of Ambedkar, the ideology of equality”.
“So this is not against the Hindu community. We are not criticising their (Hindus) belief. We are opposing and criticising Sangh Parivar’s agenda. Their agenda is nothing but Hindutva. So we are not against Hindus. We are against Hindutva which is the political agenda of BJP and RSS,” the VCK chief further said while speaking to ANI.
Earlier, standing firm on his statement calling for the eradication of Sanatana Dharma, Udhayanidhi Stalin said that he is ready to present the extensive writings of Ramasamy (called Periyar by his supporters) and B. R. Ambedkar on the subject.
