Bittu Bajrangi, a Bajrang Dal member and Gau rakshak, has been arrested in connection with the Nuh Muslim violence that took place on July 31.
Bajrangi was arrested by the CIA team of the Nuh police on Tuesday evening from his Faridabad home, the Faridabad Police said.
Nuh police said an FIR against him was registered on a complaint by ASP Usha Kundu at Sadar Nuh police station. The charges against him include assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty, voluntarily causing harm to deter a public worker from doing his duties, rioting, and Section 25 of the Arms Act, police said.
The police added that he was being questioned by the CIA team regarding the violence that left six people dead in Nuh and Gurgaon.
Earlier this month, Bajrangi was arrested and later released on bail in connection with a video posted on the morning of July 31, The Indian Express has quoted police as saying. In this case, an FIR under IPC Section 295A was registered at the Dabua police station.
As per the report, the FIR stated: “Through social media, Bittu Bajrangi has made a video by coming live on Facebook… To create religious frenzy, he is instigating and provoking a specific community…”
Three Hindu civilians and two policemen were murdered and over fifty others were injured in the systematic violence by Muslims in Nuh on July 31. As part of the pre-planned organised violence, Muslim mobs attacked Hindu devotees, pelted stones, threw petrol bombs, fired bullets, and set vehicles, police stations, and government buildings on fire.
