After facing criticism from students and on social media, BHU has revoked its previous order prohibiting Holi celebrations in public spaces inside the campus. “In view of the reactions received to the earlier circular dated 28th February 2023 regarding Holi celebrations on social media and other media, the said circular is being withdrawn,” the new circular dated 4th March 2023 reads. Earlier, on Thursday, a large group of students had defied the order and celebrated Holi inside the campus.
