After a 40-day journey starting from the Sathish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Chandrayaan-3 mission has landed successfully on the Moon. The Chandrayaan-3 lander Vikram touched down on the Moon’s South Pole on Wednesday.
“Chandrayaan-3 Mission: ‘India🇮🇳, I reached my destination and you too!’: Chandrayaan-3Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon 🌖!.Congratulations, India🇮🇳!” the ISRO posted on X, earlier known as Twitter.
“We have achieved soft landing on the Moon. India is on the Moon,” ISRO chief S Somnath said after the landing.
“When we see such historic moments it makes us very proud. This is the dawn of new India,” said PM Modi, who witnessed the historic occasion virtually.
