On 12 December, a 23-year-old protestor, Majidreza Rahnavard, was publicly executed in the city of Mashhad, Iran by the Islamic regime. He was charged with the crime of moharebeh (waging war against Allah).

“Protester Majidreza Rahnavard was publicly hanged for charges of moharebeh in Mashhad this morning, per the judiciary’s Mizan news agency. He was arrested 23 days ago and is the second protester to be executed in five days,” Iran Human Rights, an NGO, said in a tweet on 12 December.

Rahnavard was interrogated by the Iranian administration prior to the public hanging, and a video of him expressing his final wish before death has surfaced online.

“ I don’t want anyone to mourn on my grave, I don’t want anyone to read Quran or pray, just celebrate and play celebratory music,” Rahnavard said in the video.

Iran’s Mizan news agency reported that Rahnavard had stabbed two security force members to death on 17 November in the city of Mashhad and wounded four others.

Rahnavard was denied a lawyer of his choice for his trial. The lawyer he was given did not put up a defence, the BBC reported.

Earlier, on 8 December, Mohsen Shekari was publicly executed by the Islamic regime for the same charges of waging war against Allah.
