The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday said it has arrested an Enforcement Directorate (ED) official and his associate for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 15 lakh to settle a matter related to a chit fund case, PTI has reported.
Those arrested are Naval Kishore Meena, Enforcement Officer of the ED in Imphal, and his local associate, Babulal Meena.
A person had lodged a complaint with the agency stating that a bribe amount of Rs 17 lakh was demanded by Naval Kishore Meena for settling the case registered against him in the office of the ED in Imphal.
A team led by Dr. Ravi, the Deputy Inspector General with the ACB in Jaipur, nabbed both accused in Jaipur while they were accepting the bribe of Rs 15 lakh. The ED said Naval Kishor was on a private visit to Jaipur after taking leave from his office.
Naval Kishore is a resident of Vimalpura village in Bassi of Rajasthan’s Jaipur district, while his associate Babulal is working as a Junior Assistant in Sub Registrar Office of Mundawar in the Kotpulti-Behror district.
