The Gujarat govt on Saturday filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on a PIL against forced and fraudulent religious conversion. “The said right (to freedom of religion) certainly does not include the right to convert an individual through fraud, deception, coercion, allurement or other such means,” the state govt said in its affidavit. The govt also informed the apex court that it has passed a law in the assembly to stop coercive religious conversions in the state.
