Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday announced 20% reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC) in promotions for group A and B government posts.

Khattar said the Supreme Court had directed states to examine SC participation across cadres. After analysing data, this quota is being implemented, he stated in the Assembly,

Earlier, the quota was limited to group C and D positions.

Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala welcomed the move and urged clearing promotion backlogs.
