In a video that surfaced on social media recently, a Hindu lady principal named Mamta Dixit is seen crying and informing about the harassment she is facing in the school by her fellow Muslim teachers and students for the last year. Dixit is working as a principal in the Smt Joy Harris Girls Inter College, Agra.

Dixit is heard saying that the Muslim teachers led by Rehana Khatun are harassing her for being a Hindu, in order to eliminate her from the college management board. Khatun is instigating the teachers and around 200 Muslim girls in the college to protest against her due to her religion. Dixit said that Muslim girls have filed fabricated complaints against her in order to mentally harass her. She said:

I am being harassed. Nine Muslim teachers have ganged up against me and they are threatening me to leave the chair. I am having suicidal thoughts and can’t take this anymore. I am even scared to travel in the city. They can do anything to me and my family.

Most of these teachers are residents of Sarai Khwaja. They are instigating the Muslim girls from the college against me and are also gathering Muslim boys outside the college.

“An atmosphere has also been created against the picture of Maa Saraswati in the office”, Dixit said.

Dixit further in the video is seen requesting the students to come in school uniforms only. She added that she will continue to fight with the teachers to ban the hijab and burqa in the school.

Meanwhile, Lal Bahadur, a member of the school managing committee informed that both the parties were heard in a meeting. He said:

There is no dispute now. Orders have been given to run the school with discipline. Any kind of indiscipline will not be accepted in the school. Everyone has to ensure compliance with the rules.

Joint Education Director RP Sharma informed in the matter:

If the principal is being harassed for belonging to the Hindu religion, strict action will be taken against the accused teachers. The case will be considered and a committee will be formed to look into the matter.
