Arfa Khanum Sherwani’s old tweet calling for India to have ‘our Gaza’ has gone viral on social media.

“If a terrorist state like Israel is our model state, then we must find our Gaza too,” reads Arfa’s tweet dated October 19, 2016.

Recently, she has been in the news when Danish Kaneria, a Hindu in Pakistan, in his post called out her for her anti-India propaganda.

“Come to my country Pakistan if you are feeling ashamed to be an Indian. India doesn’t need people like you. I am sure many people in India will be happy to sponsor this trip,” Kaneria had said on Sunday in a post on X (earlier known as Twitter) quoting Arfa’s post.

“Deplorable behaviour of many cricket fans during World Cup matches, makes me feel embarrassed &ashamed as an Indian. This petty, insecure & majoritarian approach towards sports which was meant to bring people together, is symbolic of India Modi-RSS have created in last one decade,” Arfa had said on Sunday.

Earlier, after the Twitter feud between Arfa and Kaneria, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia on Monday said that he stands with Arfa Khanum Sherwani rather than Danish Kaneria.

“Mr Danish Kaneria it would be nice if you could put your house in order first. Arfa criticized our country, wrongly so, but our relationship is not defined by the religion we profess but by the country we love, our Bharat. Even when there is very little in common with her, I decide to stand with a fellow Indian over the common faith we both have. This will surely go a long way to show to every citizen that the bond of love for our country should always be stronger than the bond of religion. Never ever dare to trouble a fellow Indian otherwise you will also be thrown out of the arena like the cricket ball. Jai Hind,” Bhatia said in a post on X quoting Danish Kaneria’s post.

Meanwhile, Arfa’s several anti-India and anti-Hindu tweets have also surfaced online. “Yes ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ is communal. Because it forces a certain mythological idea of motherland being a Devi, a deity. This may suit your faith and religious philosophy but not people who believe in monotheism- one God. It is clearly a majoritarian slogan,” Arfa’ tweet dated December 28, 2018 reads.

“Afghanistan’s Bamiyan Budhdha statues were destroyed by Taliban terrorists in 2001. India’s Babri Masjid was demolished by Hindutva goons in 1992. Babri happened almost a decade before Bamiyan. Who inspired whom? Never got the logic behind ‘Hindu Taliban,” she had said in her tweet dated June 5, 2021.

In another tweet dated July 16, 2021, Arfa said, “How it started : We are better than Pakistan. How it is going: We are better than Taliban. Hindutva apologists have come a long way.”
