Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday that he has ordered a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip as Israel fights the Hamas terror group.
“I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel; everything is closed,” Gallant said following an assessment at the IDF’s Southern Command in Beersheba.
“We are fighting human animals, and we are acting accordingly,” Gallant added.
Meanwhile, Israel’s chief military spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, told reporters on Monday that Israel has “control” of its border communities following Saturday’s attack by Hamas terrorists into its territory.
Hagari said there had been some isolated incidents on Monday morning, but that “at this stage, there is no fighting in the communities”.
However, he added that “there might still be terrorists in the region”.
