In yet another attack on Hindus in the valley, Islamists shot at and grievously injured two Hindus in Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday evening. The victims have been identified as Bekku Ram and Tej Bahadur. As per reports, while one of them is critical another is stable.
“This is a cowardice & inhumane act of terrorism. The victims were called by terrorists to come out to engage in a work. Once both came out, terrorist fired upon them with pistol. We are investigating on top priority,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet quoting ADGP Kashmir.
The victims were working as labourers at a private SAPS school in the Bondialgam area of the Anantnag district. Ram is a resident of Bihar, while Bahadur is from Nepal.
Islamists have been targeting Hindus continuously in the valley. Earlier, on the night of October 17, 2022, two Hindus named Monish Kumar and Ram Sagar were killed by Islamists in the Shopian district. While on October 15, 2022, Islamists shot dead one Puran Krishan Bhat near his home in the same district.
