Kiren Rijiju was dropped as Union Law Minister on Thursday and replaced by Arjun Ram Meghwal. Rijiju has been moved to the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Meghwal, Minister of State in charge of Parliamentary Affairs, will now also have Independent Charge of the Law Ministry.

Earlier, during his tenure, Rijiju had criticised the Supreme Court over the collegium system of judges appointing judges.
