“The LG has alleged that I am sitting on files for demolishing several places of worship. These files pertain to 67 temples, 6 mazaars and 1 gurdwara. These have to be razed to make way for projects… This is a matter of religious sentiments,” Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said on Monday. “Some of these structures are up to 90 years old. Baanke Bihari Santan Temple was built in 1948, the police report says that demolition will be strongly opposed by locals,” Sisodia added. He said he has requested the LG that the design of the projects be altered to accommodate these structures.
