Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday said the schools in the state for classes 1 to 8 will reopen on Wednesday. He said this is being done keeping in mind the “need and importance” of taking such a decision.
The Chief Minister also said that bunkers that have come up across the state will be destroyed, and state and paramilitary forces will be deployed in vulnerable areas.
The state will provide increased protection in five districts to help those who want to resume farming and agricultural activities. These districts include Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Imphal West, and Imphal East, which have seen the worst violence in the state.
