Substantial reserves of lithium have been discovered in the Degana municipality of Rajasthan’s Nagaur district. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has said that the amount of lithium present in these reserves can meet 80% of the country’s total demand. GSI officials say this reserve is much bigger than the reserves found in Jammu and Kashmir. In February this year, 5.9 million tonnes of lithium reserves were discovered in Jammu and Kashmir.
