A senior Russian lawmaker, Vyacheslav Volodin, has warned that continued weapon supply from the West to Ukraine could lead to a global tragedy for humanity. He also stated that Moscow could respond with more powerful weapons if its territory is threatened.

Volodin’s comments were made following a meeting at the US Ramstein air base in Germany, where Western powers committed to continuing their support for Kiev.

On Sunday, Volodin took to Telegram to point out that should the weapons provided by the US and fellow NATO member states be used to “strike civilian cities and to attempt to seize our territories, as they threaten [to do],” Moscow would respond with “more powerful weapons.”
