Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district is alleged to be forcing students including Hindu girls to wear a hijab. The state govt has ordered a probe into the matter. The allegations were levelled after a poster of the school showed girls, including Hindu students, wearing hijab. However, school owner Mustaq Khan said that the uniform included the headscarf and nobody was forced to wear it. NCPCR chairman Priyank Kanoonago also tweeted about the same stating that a complaint has been received about a school in Damoh district “forcing Hindu and other non-Muslim girls to wear burqas & hijab.”
