In yet another attack on non-Muslims in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, multiple churches were vandalised and the surrounding Christian settlements were ransacked in Faisalabad over blasphemy allegations against Islam.
The incident took place in Faisalabad’s Jaranwala Tehsil. “An FIR has been lodged, and we are trying to control the situation at this moment,” a local police official said.
“Words fail me as I write this. We, Bishops, Priests and lay people are deeply pained and distressed at the Jaranwala incident in the Faisalabad District in Pakistan. A church building is being burnt as I type this message. Bibles have been desecrated and Christians have been tortured and harassed having been falsely accused of violating the Holy Quran,” Bishop Azad Marshall posted on X, earlier known as Twitter.
Bishop Marshall further said that he is crying out for justice and action to take place against those who had attacked them.
Non-Muslims, particularly Hindus, have been continuously being persecuted in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan since its inception in 1947.
