NIA declares a reward of rupees 10 lakh for information on Khalistani terrorist Harpreet Singh

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on September 7, 2022, announced a reward of rupees 10 lakh for any information regarding the Khalistani terrorist Harpreet Singh alias Happy Malaysia. Singh is based in Malaysia and is part of the Khalistani terror outfit named the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF). Singh is wanted by the NIA in the case of the Ludhiana district court bomb blast which took place on December 23, 2021. Six people were injured in the explosion while a former police constable named Gagandeep Singh was killed while planting the bomb in the washroom of the court. The NIA has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Explosives Act, and Prevention of Damage To Public Property Act.

As per the statement given by the spokesperson of the NIA: 

Singh is presently residing in Malaysia and is associated with ISYF. NIA has declared a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh against Singh, a resident of village Miadi-kalan in Ajnala area of Amritsar (Punjab). 

The NIA further said that the identity of the informer will be kept a secret by the agency. 

In May 2022, Punjab Police and NIA arrested nine people in the case in different operations. The police said that the explosive device was delivered via a drone from Pakistan. DGP Punjab Police informed through Twitter: 

The main accused was arrested by the STF team of Border Range. The IED used in the blast was trafficked through a drone backed by ISI. The operation was conducted in coordination with Central Agency.
