The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids at around 50 locations in north India on the morning of September 12, 2022. As per reports, the raid was conducted against organized terror gangs involved in narco-terrorism, smuggling of arms, inter-gang rivalry, and other illegal activities. The search operations aim to investigate the larger conspiracy linked to organized gangs involved in illegal activities. Raids were reported to have been launched in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab among other parts.

The raids are reportedly linked to the gangsters and their terror links who are involved in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case. Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Punjab’s Mansa. The gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi was identified as the mastermind of the murder of the Moose Wala along with his Canada-based close aid Goldy Brar, who both are on the radar of the NIA. Bishnoi was arrested in June 2022 and is now lodged in the Tihar Jail in Delhi.

Delhi police on September 10 arrested three gangsters who were communicating with Goldy Brar through the Signal app. Money, shelter, and weapons were arranged by Brar to execute a target. Punjab Director General Gaurav Yadav on September 11 informed that four sharpshooters involved in the murder of Moose Wala have been arrested while two were shot dead in a police encounter. He further said that Goldy Brar will also be soon brought to justice. Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs reportedly have links with the Canada-based Khalistani terror groups and the intelligence agency of Pakistan ISI agents.
