Ahead of Parliament’s Monsoon session on Thursday,  PM Modi broke his silence on Manipur violence that has been going on for more than two months now and has taken the lives of almost two hundred people. The PM reacted to the May 4 video of two women being paraded naked by a group of rioters. The video surfaced on social media on Wednesday.

“The Manipur incident is shameful for any decent society. My heart is full of pain and anger,” PM Modi said and assured that no guilty would be spared.

“I assure the nation, no guilty will be spared. The law will take its course with all its might. What has happened to daughters of Manipur can never be forgiven,” the PM said.

The entire state of Manipur has been burning since the beginning of May and has witnessed some of the most horrific instances of violence and mass killings. People had since been questioning PM Modi, who finally broke his silence after the 75-day-old video outraged people across the nation.
