The father of the Muslim kid, who was seen getting slapped by his classmates in a viral video, has said that it is not a Hindu-Muslim issue.

“My son studies in LKG; he is seven years old. This incident happened on August 24. The (teacher) madam, made the students beat my child again and again. My nephew, who had gone to school for some work, made the video. He saw the kid being tortured… Yes, I had told the madam to keep my kid disciplined. But only madam or 1-2 seniors could beat him, but my seven-year-old child was tortured for an hour or two. His health is fine, but he is scared,” the father of the kid said while speaking to ANI.

“This is not a Hindu-Muslim matter. The situation is fine. There is brotherhood in the village,” he continued.

“Torturing a kid for 1-2 hours is not a matter of wisdom. When we went to complain to her, she said, “This is the rule here”. We want the law to take its own course,” he added.

Meanwhile, the teacher in the video, Tripta Tyagi has said that the viral video is cropped, and she had no religious prejudices. “The video that went viral was edited and cropped; I had no such intentions… in our place, Hindus and Muslims stay in unity, and we have more Muslim students in our school. There was pressure from the parents of the child to be strict with him. He had not done homework for two months. I am handicapped; I can’t get up…So, I made 2-3 students punish him so that he would start doing his work,” Tyagi told ANI.

“His uncle was sitting there and making a video while talking to me.…What I said was that Mohammedan mothers must not take their kids to their uncles’ homes as the exam is approaching and it leads to loss of studies. But they cut this video, kept the ‘Muhamdan’ word, and removed the other part,” she added.

“There was no Hindu-Muslim angle in this… I was totally unaware. I had no such intentions…Later, I came to know that the video was viral…I have made a mistake (making other students punish him), and I seek an apology with folded hands,” she further said.
