One Aamir involved in Nuh violence was arrested after a brief encounter with police in the Tauru area of the district. Aamir is a resident of Didhara village.
A search operation was launched following input that the accused, along with his associates, was hiding in the Aravalli hills near Tauru, police said on August 21.
They further said a country-made pistol and five cartridges were recovered from Aamir’s possession.
Three Hindu civilians and two policemen were murdered and over fifty others were injured in the systematic violence by Muslims in Nuh on July 31. As part of the pre-planned organised violence, Muslim mobs attacked Hindu devotees, pelted stones, threw petrol bombs, fired bullets, and set vehicles, police stations, and government buildings on fire.
