Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said the violence in Nuh took place because the organisers (VHP-Bajrang Dal) who took out the religious procession did not give “proper estimation” to the administration about the number of people participating in the shobha yatra.
“Jo kal ki yatra ke ayojak the unhone bheed ka estimation aur proper bayora district prashashan ko nahin diya. Kahin naa kahin uski kami ke karan yah durghatna kal ghati hai (The organisers of yesterday’s yatra did not give proper information about the expected number of people participating in it. This seems to be the cause behind yesterday’s accident [violence]),” Chautala said on Tuesday.
“The people of Mewat fought for the Independence of India. Not only today, but when the Mughals attacked India, the people of Mewat had fought for independence. And in post-independence, when migration was happening in the country, all people stayed here at the request of Mahatma Gandhi and contributed to the progress of the country,” the Deputy CM added.
“What happened in Nuh on Monday is unprecedented in the history of Haryana, and those behind this incident will be identified and punished as per law,” he further said, urging people to maintain peace.
