PCB files complaint with ICC over ‘inappropriate conduct’ towards team during India vs Pakistan clash

Days after the Indian cricket team thrashed Pakistan by 7 wickets, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding ‘inappropriate conduct’ targeted at members of the Pakistani team during the match.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023. The PCB has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on 14 October 2023,” the PCB Media said in a statement.

After the match, Pakistan Team Director Mickey Arthur had said that the atmosphere inside the Narendra Modi Stadium did not feel like it was ‘an ICC event’.

“Look, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t. It didn’t seem like an ICC event, to be brutally honest. It seemed like a bilateral series; it seemed like a BCCI event. I didn’t hear ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ coming through the microphones too often tonight,” Arthur had said.

Earlier, PCB chief Zaka Ashraf raised concerns over the delay in visas being issued to Pakistani fans and journalists for the World Cup.
