Accused of sexually assaulting hundreds of women, Janata Dal (Secular) [JD(S)] MP Prajwal Revanna released a video on Monday expressing readiness to join the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe.
“On Friday, 31 May at 10 am I will appear before SIT and provide all information related to the investigation. I will support the investigation. I have faith in the judiciary,” Revanna said in the video.
This comes after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a show-cause notice against him questioning why his diplomatic passport should not be cancelled.
A few days ago, former Prime Minister and Revanna’s grandfather, HD Deve Gowda had also asked Revanna to surrender to police.
Revanna left India on 27 April and went to Germany. He said that his trip was pre-planned and later he came to know about the allegations against him. He said that the SIT was formed only after he had already left India and accused Rahul Gandhi and many other Congress leaders of a political conspiracy against him.
He said that after seeing such allegations he went into a depression and remained in isolation for some time.
