Jathedar Baba Harjit Singh, the descendant of Nihang Baba Fakir Singh Khalsa, who had entered into the disputed structure in Ayodhya and performed Havan in 1858, will organise a langar during the consecration of Lord Rama in Ayodhya on January 22.

In November 1858, 25 Nihang Sikhs, under the leadership of Nihang Baba Fakir Singh Khalsa, entered the disputed structure and performed a havan inside.

Baba Harjit Singh said he wanted to carry forward his ancestor’s devotion towards Lord Ram by holding the langar along with other Nihangs. “Now, when the Prana Pratishtha of Lord Rama is being done on January 22, 2024, how can I lag behind?” he said while addressing reporters in Chandigarh on Sunday.

“We are part of Sanatan. This is our Dharma. We have worked to keep it alive.” Baba Harjit Singh said while spekaing to ANI. He requested Hindus and Sikhs to celebrate the consecration of the Ram Mandir together on 22nd January 2024.
