Reliance Jio has announced that it will be expanding its 5G service to 11 more cities in India: Lucknow, Trivandrum, Mysuru, Nashik, Aurangabad, Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Kharar, and Derabassi. This makes it the first network to offer 5G service in these cities. Previously, Reliance Jio 5G was available in Delhi NCR, Varanasi, Mumbai, Nathdwara, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, and all 33 district headquarters in Gujarat.
In the coming days, Jio will be inviting users to take advantage of the Jio Welcome Offer, which provides unlimited data with speeds up to 1Gbps at no extra cost. The Jio 5G network operates on the 700 MHz, 3500 MHz, and 26 GHz bands and is based on standalone 5G architecture. It also supports carrier aggregation.
Several smartphone manufacturers, including Xiaomi, Nothing, Oppo, and Realme, have already released updates to support 5G, while others like Google are still rolling out software updates for the same.
