General secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Dattatreya Hosabale on October 18, 2022, said that a conspiracy for religious conversion is going on in many parts of the country. Hosabale added that the organization is trying to create awareness on the subject. Hosabale was talking to the reporters at the conclusion of the four-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (national executive) meeting of RSS in Gauhania of Prayagraj district in Uttar Pradesh. Population control, education in regional languages, and women empowerment were some of the major topics which were discussed in the national executive meeting of the RSS.
“Population imbalance caused by infiltration from Bangladesh has been seen in districts of north Bihar, including Purnia and Katihar, and in other states. Therefore, we have resolved that there is a need for this subject to be considered holistically and in unity so that a uniform national population policy be framed and made applicable on all”, Hosabale said.
“As a result, there has been a favourable outcome of ghar wapsi”, Hosabale added. He further said that the “existing laws to prevent religious conversion need to be implemented strictly”.
Hosabale said that the “sense of ‘I am also a Hindu’ has developed due to public awareness initiatives of RSS among the people of the tribal community in the northeastern states”.
“Now these people also want to join the Sangh,” Hosabale added.
Talking on the recently formed committee under the former Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan to examine whether the members of the Hindu communities that converted to other religions should get the Scheduled Caste status, Hosabale said that “those who changed their religion should not get the benefit of reservation”.
Talking about the increasing participation of women in social activities of the Hindus, Hosabale said, “women are entering every sector. Their role in decision making in social work must also increase”.
Earlier while addressing the Vijayadashmi rally of the RSS on October 5, the organization’s chief Mohan Bhagwat in his speech had called for the formulation of a comprehensive national population policy that is applicable to all. Bhagwat had said that “population control and religion-based population balance is an important subject that can no longer be ignored”.
