The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Saturday accused the Centre of interfering in Sikh affairs. “Government ministers are giving the wrong colour to Sikh affairs. Recently, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman hurt the Sikh sentiments by rejecting the history of Gurdwara Dongmar Sahib in Sikkim – the holy place associated with Guru Nanak Dev,” SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami said. “This case is being fought by SGPC in Sikkim High Court, but matter being sub-judice, Union Minister has violated conduct of her constitutional position by making a one-sided statement,” Dhami added.
