The Supreme Court on Friday directed to put on hold the scientific survey, including carbon dating, of Shivling found inside the disputed Gyanvapi structure. A bench comprising CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice PS Narasimha, and Justice KV Viswanathan passed the order in a special leave petition filed by the Muslim side against the High Court’s May 12 order. The apex court directed that the implementation of the directions contained in the High Court’s order shall stand deferred till the next date of hearing.
