US Republican Presidential aspirant Vivek Ramaswamy said that Transgenderism is a mental health disorder.
“I have to be very clear about this. Transgenderism – especially in kids – is a mental health disorder. We have to acknowledge the truth of that for what it is. It is not compassionate to affirm a kid’s confusion. That is not compassion. That is cruelty,” Ramaswamy said.
Ramaswamy proceeded to recount his meeting two women Katie Anderson of Massachusetts and Chloe Cole of California.
Both women, now in their 20s, underwent ‘gender-reaffirming’ surgeries to become ‘men’ as minors, and now regrets the decision. They now tour the country and talk about the dangers of acting on children’s initial feelings of gender dysphoria too early.
Referring to the removal of ones uterus, Ramaswamy cited how Anderson now could never have children due to their decision.
“The fact we allowed that to happen in this country is barbaric. So I will ban genital mutilation, chemical castration,” he said.
Ramaswamy made the remarks during the second GOP debate for its 2024 US presidential election.
