In yet another incident of attack on Hindus in UK’s Leicestershire, a Hindu temple was vandalized and a saffron flag was desecrated by Muslims. According to reports, the Muslim mobs tried to keep Hindus hostage, including children. The report added that cars and other Hindu-owned properties were vandalized by the Muslim mob. This comes after a spate of attacks on Hindus following the Asia Cup India-Pakistan cricket match on 28 August.
The Muslim mob had reportedly pulled down the saffron flag from the Brahma Samaj Shivalaya. Chairman of the trustees of the Leicestershire Brahma Samaj Shivalaya, Madhu Shastri has written a letter to the chief constable of Leicestershire Police and sought protection for the temple. The letter has also requested the police to arrest the person who tore the temple flag down.
The Leicestershire Police informed that:
Parts of East Leicester experienced serious disorder on Saturday evening into Sunday morning when large crowds formed after groups of young men began an unplanned protest Regrettably the situation led to disorder.
The High Commission of India, London condemned the violence in Leicestershire and tweeted:

We have strongly taken up this matter with the UK authorities and have sought immediate action against those involved in these attacks.
