Noida’s district hospital has introduced a dedicated registration and pharmacy counter for transgender patients. The registration counter notes the details of the transgender patient whereas the pharmacy counter gives medicines prescribed by the doctors.

The district hospital’s Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Renu Aggarwal said that she was receiving complaints from the people of the Tranganders community about the ‘discrimination and misbehaviour’ that they face while registering in the Outpatient Department (OPD) of the hospital.

After taking cognisance of their grievances, a dedicated registration and pharmacy counter for the transgender community was set up, She added; as per India Today.

Agarwal hoped that after the new initiative, the influx of patients from the transgender community will increase in the hospital.
