On Tuesday, a man named Sajid entered the house of one Vinod, who lives across the street from his shop and murdered Vinod’s two children in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun.
Sajid ran a barber shop near the victims’ house in Baba Colony and knew their father, Vinod. On Tuesday evening, he entered the house and asked for a loan of Rs 5,000, police said. When the children’s mother left the room to make him tea, Sajid went to the terrace of the house and attacked Vinod’s three children – Aayush (11), Piyush (7) and Ahaan (6).
Sajid slit Aayush and Ahaan’s throats and also tried to kill Piyush. While the two brothers died, Piyush sustained injuries.
Sajid was caught nearby but he tried to attack the police and was killed in an encounter. According to the police, the motive behind the murders is not known.
“The accused Sajid…entered the house yesterday at around 7:30 pm and went to the terrace where the children were playing. He attacked the two children and murdered them. He then came down where the crowd tried to hold him back but he escaped,” SSP Budaun Alok Priyadarshi was quoted as saying by ANI.
“Police teams swung into action when they got to know that the accused had escaped…The accused fired at the police and was killed in retaliatory fire. The murder weapon and the revolver have been recovered…In the FIR, the family of the deceased children has also named the brother, Javed of the accused. Teams are working to find him and he will be arrested soon…According to the family, the accused had demanded Rs 5,000 from the father of the deceased children,” he added.
