On Sunday, two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans sustained severe injuries and their weapons snatched after they were attacked by more than a hundred Bangladeshis with sticks and sharp-edged tools. The incident occurred near the Nirmalchar border outpost when two jawans were patrolling it, BSF said. The jawans were attacked when they tried to stop the Bangladeshis from bringing their cattle across the border. Indian farmers had complained about Bangladeshis entering their fields to graze cattle and deliberately damaging their crops.
