West Bengal: 45 bombs and many weapons recovered from Muslim politician Ziabur Rahman’s house

Police is investigating in the possibility of conspiracy of inciting unrest in the area

West Bengal police have arrested a Muslim leader of Purba Bardhaman district and former deputy chief, Ziabur Rahman. Police have recovered 45 explosive bombs and weapons from Rahman’s house. Along with that, the police have also seized shutter guns and bullets from Rahman’s home.

Rahman is a prominent local politician in the Banpara village of Jhilu ​​Gram Panchayat of Mangalkot. Mangalkot police station conducted a search operation on the morning of August 8, 2022, at the residence of Rahman at Masjid Para in Banpara village. Rahman has been taken into police custody for five days.

As per the reports, police acted on the news spread in the village that bombs were being collected at Rahman’s place. Police are further investigating the matter.
