An Air India cabin crew named Shafi was arrested at Kochi Airport for trying to smuggle 1.487 kg of gold. Shafi Sharaf had arrived from Bahrain around 8.30 pm on Flight IX 474. He was of Bahrain-Kozhikode-Kochi service. His long-sleeve shirt covered the paste of gold that was wrapped around his forearms. As per reports, he was transported to the Office of the Customs preventive wing around 10.20 pm. Shafi is a native of Kerala’s Wayanad.
