BJP Maharashtra chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday said that the party will appoint 48 Muslim leaders in as many Lok Sabha constituencies in the state to reach out to Muslim voters, who are increasingly impressed with PM Modi’s work.

“As part of the upcoming election campaign, 48 Muslim leaders of the BJP’s Alpasankhyank Aghadi (minority front) will go on a tour of 48 Lok Sabha constituencies and take the work that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government under Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde have done for them through the Maulana Azad corporation [Maulana Azad Minorities Financial Development Corporation] or through the minorities commission,” Bawankule was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Bawankule said that a plan has been made under the leadership of Alpsankhyak Aghadi president Idris Multani to reach out to various constituents of the Muslim community, including ‘Pasmanda’ Muslims and OBC sections. “Our Muslim leaders will tour these constituencies for 13 months. They will go to homes as per the Ghar Chalo Abhiyan, in which we plan to reach 13 lakh homes in the state,” he said.

“The way the Muslim youth have seen Chandrayaan landing on the Moon or Aditya L1 manoeuvring towards the Sun, and international leadership standing shoulder to shoulder with PM Modi, now Muslim families and Muslim women too are with the BJP, at least 20% of them will vote for us,” the BJP leader added.
