A communist carrying a bounty of Rs 15 lakh on his head, who was involved in several violent crimes surrendered before security forces in Bihar’s Gaya district. Abhyas Bhuiyan, a member of the Bihar-Jharkhand regional committee of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) outfit, laid down his rifle and cartridges before CRPF commandant Kumar Mayank and Gaya Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashish Bharti. He had actively joined the Maoist organisation in 2003 and was made regional commander in 2015.
