A man accused of rape was allegedly stabbed to death by the survivor, her family members and her friend in Delhi.

Police on Sunday said the woman and her friend were upset with the delay in the legal proceedings in the case, and planned to kill the rape accused since he lived in the neighbourhood and was threatening her.

Reportedly, the deceased was stabbed in Sarita Vihar area early on Sunday. The matter was reported to the police control room at around 2.52am. Local residents called the police after spotting the man’s body lying in a pool of blood outside his house, the officials said.

The 20-year-old woman was raped by the deceased in 2018 and the matter is under trial. She disclosed after the arrest that she was unhappy with the delayed legal proceedings and planned to kill the deceased.

Four people, including the woman, have been arrested.
